MEET ONE OF THE FACES BEHIND VIP MEDSPA

I’m Rajkumarie Seegobin, the proud co-owner of VIP MEDSPA.

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

Since I was a child, I’ve always been a compassionate person and wanted to save the world a few lives at a time. I was also passionate about health and beauty and devoted to self-care.

It inspired me to help people enhance their confidence by improving their skin and making them feel beautiful. While aesthetics was important to me, I also wanted to make individuals healthier, so I decided to practice medical aesthetics in 2006.

I worked alongside my husband, Dr. Ramesh Seegobin, who became my medical director and sole injector. Within two years, we were able to buy our first laser machine and started doing laser hair removal treatments, before gradually adding more services like microdermabrasion.

I kept it manageable as my four children were all in elementary school at that time, and they have always been my first priority. So, I worked hard to manage my family while keeping my dream alive.

Eventually, as the children started moving on to university, I was able to start focusing on my business. Today, my children are all doing very well, and instead of being an empty nester, I’m happy that I’m finally able to turn my vision into a reality.

Over the past fifteen years, I’ve noticed that the cosmetic industry has changed rapidly. Basic facials were in vogue when I first started, and I witnessed the painful journey of people getting burned due to beauticians being inexperienced with the new laser technology.

At the time, laser treatments and injectables were only for the rich, and women’s faces told the story of their wealth. While younger women only attended medspa if they had acne, they are now realizing that treatments aren’t a luxury but a necessity for the longevity of their wellness.

I’m also seeing more men practice laser hair removal, as they are beginning to care about the way they age and understand that it’s no longer just for women. They are also more comfortable visiting a medspa as the old macho stereotypes have evolved due to awareness.

Men and women alike are more aware that prevention is better than restoration, so they’re taking better care of their skin health by using medical-grade skincare. Besides, they are starting to be open to conversations about injectables like Botox and dermal fillers.

I’ve also seen a rise in injection therapy for beauty and hair treatments. When I started my aesthetic training, injection therapy was only used to treat joints, arthritis, and athletes with injuries, but now it’s more widespread, even among younger patients.

Many of my patients are in their twenties and are willing to invest in proper treatments to help them look and feel better. Instead of patients walking around with swollen cheeks and overly done lips, they opt for more natural looks with just little TWEAKS.

Consequently, to enhance their beauty, I meet patients and set up a treatment plan that addresses their wrinkles, acne scars, and facial volume loss. When done correctly and with consistency, medical aesthetics creates a work of art that makes patients feel rested and rejuvenated.

I’m always practical with patients, and as an individual, I believe what sets me apart from the others is my five business values. Working with love, respect, honesty, integrity, and authenticity has made me successful.

I also attribute my success to listening carefully to my clients to understand their expectations as they are like family to me. As a result, I treat everyone who walks through my doors the same way that I’d like others to treat me.

Therefore, It’s rewarding to see patients more confident after their treatment is complete, and I’m proud that most of my first cosmetic clients are still with me. When I hear patients say ‘I will never leave you’, you have changed my skin’s condition, and ‘I no longer have to wear so much makeup,’ it fills me with immense satisfaction.

I remember last Christmas when one of my beautiful clients was about to celebrate her eightieth birthday, and she came in to have a few treatments done. She mentioned to my assistant that she’s been one of our first patients, and she’ll be with us until she takes her last breath.

I smiled, as it was bittersweet, just the thought of losing her made me sad, but the fact that she’s happy and still comes to see us for her little fixes put a smile on my face. These moments are precious, and I’m blessed to be in a business where I get to restore hope in people’s lives.

I genuinely enjoy what I do. However, when I’m not attending to patients, I love to organize, and if I wasn’t working in skincare and the art of beauty, I would’ve been an organizer.

My other hobbies include reading motivational and inspiring books, practicing meditation, going for long walks in nature, working out, cooking, and best of all – spending quality time with my four children- Satesh, Aneal, Reshma, and Amit.

They are my most prized possessions, and there’s so much to learn from them as they inspire me to be the best version of myself. I’m also very passionate about women and children, as I grew up seeing my single mother struggle to raise eight children.

I’m currently working on a charity in my homeland to start helping single mothers get trained with the appropriate skills so they can provide for their families. We collect donations for the Halton Women’s Shelter regularly.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things that matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.

If you or someone you know could benefit from my expertise as a medical spa professional in Georgetown and Vaughan, I invite you to get in touch. Please visit my website at www.vipmedspa.ca.

Rajkumarie
